There has been a boat yard established in Cremyll for over 200 years, and in that time little of the character of Mashfords boat yard has changed. Skills that were in demand then are still in demand in the modern ship yard. Over time though we have invested in developing facilities onsite, updating machinery and tools required for our business and embracing the latest technology.
Having the benefit of six slipways, we can slip vessels up to 300 tonnes on our larger slipways and can accommodate up to 80 tonnes on covered slips. We also have onsite cranage available.
We have a full complement of highly qualified and fully trained shipwrights, boat builders, engineers, glass reinforced plastic specialists, welders and riggers.
We are fortunate to provide services to many well established clients. Our commercial clients include the Ministry of Defence, Serco and various other commercial customers e.g. fishing boats, diving boats, dredgers etc. On a smaller scale we deal with private work on sailing boats, motor boats and cruisers.

Won for our dedication to developing the skills of our staff. We entered 27 of our 32 strong workforce into Cornwall Marine Network’s training programme. The on-going training has been funded by the ESF Convergence Key Sectors programme. We are delighted to have received this award and for the on-going support to invest in further training.
